YMobile, AL  – Two GCPL members, Gulf Coast Rangers and Mobile United, were approved to merge both clubs and rebrand as Union 10 Football Club in efforts to improve the developmental pathways in southern Alabama. Mobile United has led the charge in youth development for over 20 years in Mobile, while Gulf Coast Rangers have seen great success in only their 7 years of existence operating out of Daphne/Fairhope.

“Youth soccer and the pathway to minor/professional league soccer in our country keeps evolving and evolving quickly,” said Union 10 Co-Director of Coaching, Gerardo Flores. “Our mission as a club is pretty simple and has stayed consistent. We want to offer our local players and families the best soccer experience possible and to offer an appropriate pathway to every player/family that is interested in the sport.”

“Creating a legacy for the people in the Mobile Bay area was the largest driving factor for us [Mobile United],” mentioned Union 10 Co-Director of Coaching, Kevin DeLange. “The club will become the club for the people of Mobile as it will be the first club to create a successful stepping stone format from youth to adult. This merger gives our current and future players, personnel, coaches, parents and supporters a higher platform and more importantly a club that all can be proud of.”

Gulf Coast Rangers and Mobile United will continue to offer all their respective youth programs and levels of competition from top to bottom, but will collaborate their efforts as Union 10 FC to create academy level programs for their U13-U19 groups and senior teams. Union 10 FC will compete in the GCPL men’s and women’s divisions and Union 10 FC U23s will compete in GCL2.

“We’re very supportive of these efforts to see a proper academy system in Mobile coming to fruition,” said GCPL President, Jeremy Poklemba. “These are two quality organizations putting their resources into one pot, which is always a delicate situation. We’ve been happy to see their alignment with every step along the way in the process. We’re confident their ambitions are on the path to success.”

Union 10 FC will play all of their home games at Al Trione Complex in Daphne, AL. To learn more about the Union 10 FC please visit their website and follow them on InstagramFacebook and Twitter
